England Exercise Caution To Manage Jofra Archer's Workload For Upcoming ODI Series Vs Australia

Jofra Archer Latest Update On Fitness: The English pacer will have his workload managed, as England are hosting Australia for the five-match ODI series. Here are the details.

Jofra Archer Latest Update On Fitness: England fast bowler Jofra Archer is set to feature in the upcoming ODI series against Australia. The 29-year-old has been England's go-to bowlers over the years and his prominence was felt even more in his absence due to injury.

Upon his return to England's white-ball set-up in 2024, he has been nothing short of exceptional, as he was the side's joint-leading wicket-taker in the T20 World Cup 2024, where they reached the semi-final stage, losing out to eventual winners India.

England will be going under new captaincy for the upcoming ODI series against Australia, as Harry Brook will be replacing the injured Jos Buttler.

"Jofra will have to be managed throughout the series. He's played a really good stint now of T20 cricket, but obviously you can only bowl four overs in there. There's a jump in intensity getting loads up to taking full part in an ODI - and of course, as an England fan, to push those loads up hopefully to get back into the Test arena as well," said Jos Buttler, England captan, as reported by ICC citing Sky Sports.

England Interim Coach Aims At Keeping Tarck Of Jofra Archer's Playing Time

Marcus Trescothick, who is England's interim coach, added that Jofra Archer will be monitored carefully for the ODI series against Australia, and that, 'he knows the plan'.

"He knows the plan. It's discussed long in advance of picking the team on each day. We know what we're doing with him, and where we're going. He's comfortable: he knows what he's doing. That's a bigger structure, in terms of what we're trying to do with Jofra. You come into the series knowing what we've got and what we can do with him. That's an agreed plan between the coaches, directors, physios and all the different people. We'll still be managing him [in the ODIs] - exactly the same thing," said Marcus Trescothick, as reported by ICC.
