To Delhi Capital’s relief, the account was quickly restored, and all the viral posts were removed.
Notably, this isn't the first time an IPL team's X account has been hacked; RCB's social media handle experienced a similar issue in the past.
Coming to the IPL, in the IPL season 2024, DC, led by Rishabh Pant, missed the playoffs once again. They were tied on 14 points with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), but RCB advanced after defeating CSK in a must-win match for the both teams. The Delhi-based franchise ended up in sixth place, missing the top four for the third consecutive year. The DC franchise has yet to secure an IPL or WPL title and will be aiming for victory in the IPL 2025 season.
