Cricket World Cup Challenge League 2024-26: The second edition of the tournament is off to a start and here's everything you need to about the ICC's unique tournament. Read below.

Cricket World Cup Challenge League 2024-26: The road to ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2027 is off to a start. By virtue of being the full-member and hosts, two teams have already qualified for the mega event, namely, South Africa and Zimbabwe. Inspite of being the hosts, Namibia will have to work hard via qualification stages to make into the final 14. 

Cricket World Cup Challenge League 2024-26 is the second edition of the tournament, which helps the lower-ranked associate nations realise their dream by dragging them one step closer towards the ultimate prize in cricket.

The tournament consists of 12 teams and by the laws of heirarchy order, fans can deem this tournament as 4th tier division. The winners of each group (A and B) will get promoted to Qualifier play-off spot, where the bottom-placed sides of League 2 will await them.

The Top 4 out of the Qualifiers play-off will then, get to play in the final Qualifiers, where the 9th and 10th ranked teams in the world meet them.

The final Qualifers consist of 6 teams and teams in Top 4 will get to play in the ICC ODI World Cup 2027, as the mega event will consist of 14 teams:

  • 2 hosts (South Africa and Zimbabwe)
  • Top 8 teams in the world (ICC Rankings)
  • Final 4 from the Qualifiers

League A:

Teams: Kenya; Kuwait; Papua New Guinea; Qatar; Denmark; Jersey

Venue: The matches of League A will take place from September 25 - October 5, and the matches will be held in Kenya.

League B:

Teams: Uganda; Tanzania; Singapore; Hong Kong; Italy; Bahrain

Venue: The matches of League B will take place from November 5 - November 16, and the matches will be held in Uganda.
