The incident took place in Bhopal where the leaders were addressing a group of protesters before marching towards the Madhya Pradesh assembly.

At least seven Congress party leaders were injured during the stage collapse. The party had called a protest to oppose the state government's 'anti-farmer' policies.

However, even after the collapse, the Congress workers continued their march towards the assembly, but were halted by the police.

Speaking on the incident, Madhya Pradesh Congress in-charge, Harish Choudhary, said, "Madhya Pradesh Congress is going through a phase of struggle and in this struggle, many things will happen, many things will break, incidents will happen, injuries will happen but Madhya Pradesh Congress is strong."

Rashmi Agarwal Dubey, Bhopal Zone 1 Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, said that the Police have barricaded the area and are doing their job.
