In 2023 rumours surfaced claiming Dipika Kakar abandoned a daughter from her first marriage. Dipika has now addressed the allegations publicly.

Television stars Dipika Kakar and Shoaib Ibrahim enjoy a massive fan following, but they are no strangers to online hate. The couple has often been targeted by trolls, but a particularly distressing rumour in 2023 shook Dipika to the core. Rumours surfaced claiming she had abandoned a daughter from her first marriage, leaving many in shock. After maintaining a dignified silence for a long time, Dipika has now addressed the allegations publicly.
Dipika Kakar addresses abandonment allegations
In a recent interview with Nayandeep Rakshit, Dipika opened up about her experiences with relentless trolling and the impact it had on her. Speaking about the most serious accusation leveled against her, she stated that it was deeply hurtful. “Main ek maa pe bhi itna bada allegation lagane ka sochungi bhi nahi, ki usne apni beti ko abandon kar diya,” she said, expressing disbelief over the cruel claim.
Dipika further shared that the rumours affected her significantly, especially since they surfaced while she was expecting her first child, Ruhan. She also recalled the difficult time she and Shoaib faced when Ruhan was born prematurely. “I got affected big time because that was the phase I was expecting Ruhan. And for me, it was like, you know, my only worry and my only question to Shoaib was, ‘Yeh jab aayega toh log yeh bol ke kyo bolege’ kyunki in baato mein koi sachai hi nahi hai. Ruhaan was a premature baby, we had a difficult time in the hospital,” she shared.
Shoaib Ibrahim on the controversy
Shoaib Ibrahim had previously addressed the controversy in one of his YouTube vlogs, firmly dismissing the false claims about Dipika. He made it clear that there was no truth to the rumours and that his wife’s mental well-being had suffered as a result of the distressing speculation. “I'm saying it very clear today that this news is fake. The motive of the person who has spread this wrong news is unclear. She was affected mentally. She was told so many things,” he stated.
Shoaib also urged people to be more responsible before making baseless accusations, especially against a woman who was going through an emotional and delicate phase in her life. He said that Dipika had already endured a miscarriage before finally embracing motherhood. “Don't jump to conclusions. This is so bad and wrong. You are making such a big accusation on a woman who is celebrating her first child, who has suffered a miscarriage, and now she is living her happy life with her first baby,” he added.
