Cricket Australia Announce New CEO Days Before AUS Vs IND 2nd Test

Cricket Australia will have a new CEO starting 2025, as the announcement comes in 3 days before Adelaide Test. Read below.

Cricket Australia will observe a major change at the helm starting January 2025, as the apex insititution for cricket in Australia have announced the appointment of new Chief Executive Officer.

Sydney-based former cricketer, Todd Greenberg, will be taking over the reigns from current CEO Nick Hockley, as the major decision has been announced merely days before Australia's decisive second Test match against India at the Adelaide Oval, in what will be a pink-ball day-night Test.

Australia lost the first Test match at Optus Stadium oin Perth, as India created history by handing the hosts their first-ever Test defeat at the venue, and the Kangaroos will be looking to respond strongly, as a place in the World Test Championship Final 2025 is still not guaranteed for the reigning World Test champions.

"This is an extremely exciting time for cricket with the rapid growth of the game across the globe creating fantastic opportunities, while also presenting some challenges to ensure Australian cricket retains its position at the very peak of the game," said Todd Greenberg in a released statement.

"Thanks to the work of the current administration the game has strong fundamentals in place. I want to ensure we build on this momentum so Australian cricket continues to thrive – from local parks to the nation's biggest stadiums," he added.

"We are entering a period of great opportunity and the recruitment panel and CA Board was enormously impressed by Todd's passion for cricket and his vision to build on the achievements of the past few years and continue the game's growth," said Mike Baird, Cricket Australia Chair.

"I would like to thank Nick Hockley who will leave the game in a position of great strength at the end of the season with important foundations including our broadcast rights deal, MOU and seven-year content strategy in place," he added.
