Champions Trophy 2025 Points Table: Afghanistan eliminated England from the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, ending their hopes of reaching the semifinals as they defeated the Three Lions by eight runs in a high-scoring thriller at Lahore on February 27 (Thursday). The Jos Buttler-led side needed a win to stay in contention but suffered their second consecutive defeat, sealing their exit from the ICC tournament. Ibrahim Zadran's stunning 177 and Azmatullah Omarzai's five-wicket haul outshone Joe Root's brilliant century in the ENG vs AFG match.

England will now face South Africa in their final Group B fixture, though the match holds no significance for them. Meanwhile, Afghanistan, now on two points, must defeat Australia in their last group-stage game to keep their semifinal hopes alive.
