The BCCI president Roger Binny also commented on India’s loss in the WTC final against Australia.
“We lost the game on the first day itself. The big partnership that Australia put on was what really turned the tables in this game. Otherwise, the game was even. If you take away that partnership, the game was totally even,” Binny told ANI.
The former India pacer suggested Indian team to focus on the upcoming World Cup which is slated to take place in October-November this year.
“We have something bigger coming up in the future so we have to keep our spirits up and make sure that we do well in the World Cup and it’s at home. So that is important,” said Binny.
The Indian skipper Rohit Sharma also spoke moments after they lost yet another ICC title.
"I would like to play the 3-Test match series for the WTC Final. We worked hard and we fought but we played just 1 game. I think a 3-match series would be ideal in the next WTC cycle,” Rohit said at the post-match press conference.
After this victory, the Australians have now become the first team in the world to win all the ICC titles including the ODI World Cup, the T20 World Cup, the Champions Trophy as well as the WTC.
