BCCI Names Replacement Of T20 World Cup Winning Trio For First Two T20I's Against Zimbabwe

India Vs Zimbabwe T20I Series: The T20 World Cup 2024 winning trio gets extra rest period, and THESE three players have been named as their replacements. Here are the details.

India Vs Zimbabwe T20I Series: Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on Tuesday, July 2, announced the replacements of T20 World Cup 2024 winning trio - Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shivam Dube, Sanju Samson, as Jitesh Sharma, Sai Sudarshan, and Harshit Rana have replaced the former for the first two T20I's against Zimbabwe.

India and Zimbabwe are scheduled to play five-match T20I series starting July 6, but after India's historic T20 World Cup 2024 victory, the winning members have been granted an extra rest period and they thoroughly deserve it, as India finally ended their wait for an ICC trophy after a drought of 11 years.

Shubman Gill will be leading the side in Zimbabwe, as India embark a new era in the shortest international format, and the 'Men in Blue' will be hoping of finding their true successors of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja.

 

BCCI's Official Statement On Squad Changes For India Vs Zimbabwe T20I Series

"The Men’s Selection Committee has named Sai Sudharsan, Jitesh Sharma and Harshit Rana as replacements for Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube and Yashasvi Jaiswal for the first two T20Is against Zimbabwe. Originally slated to join the Zimbabwe-bound squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series starting Saturday, 6th July, the trio will travel to India first with the rest of the ICC T20 World Cup-winning Indian squad before departing for Harare."
