Australian PM Responds To Slater's 'Blood On Your Hands' Comment, Says 'Its Absurd'

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrisson responded after Michae Slater lashed out at him for not allowing Australian players and commentators to return back to Australia amid the pandemic.

IPL 2021: Australian PM Scott Morrisson replied to the comments made by cricketer-turned-commentator Micael Slater. The Australian lashed out at the Australian PM on Twitter after the former imposed a travel ban on India by the Australian government.

Michael Slater, who is part of the commentary team in the Indian Premier League said, "If our Government cared for the safety of Aussies they would allow us to get home. It's a disgrace!! Blood on your hands PM. How dare you treat us like this. How about you sort out quarantine system. I had government permission to work on the IPL but I now have government neglect," on Twitter.

The Australian PM has said that 'it is absurd' while replying to Slater's comment on Nine Network. “This is about getting more people home safely, preventing the third wave here in Australia. I think the likelihood of any of that (jail term for those not abiding by the travel ban) occurring is pretty much zero," Scott Morrison said.

Earlier, the Aussie PM had said, “They (cricketers) have traveled there privately under those arrangements, this wasn't part of an Australian tour,

"They are under their own resources and they'll be using those resources, I'm sure, to seek to return to Australia in accordance with our own arrangements," PM Scott Morrison told the news agency AFP.

The entire ruckus about the Australian players wanting to go home began after the second wave hit India. Recently, many players were also affected by the novel Corona virus. As of now, Varun Chakravarthy, Sandeep Warrier, Amit Mishra, CSK coach l Balaji are all down with Covid-9 As the virus has breached the bio-bubble, the players and support staff are anxious and thus, the tournament had to be called off.

The foreign players will be returning back to their home countries after the recent announcement.
