Asia Cup 2022 Qualifiers: UAE, Hong Kong And Kuwait Vie For Single Spot In Group A
The team qualifying today will join India and Pakistan in Group A of the Asia Cup T20 tournament.
Asia Cup 2022: Today is the final day of the Asia Cup 2022 qualifiers with three teams still battling for a single spot left to qualify. UAE, Hong Kong and Kuwait are the teams still in contention to book a spot in the Asia Cup 2022, which will be held in the UAE from August 27. The team qualifying today will join India and Pakistan in Group A of the Asia Cup T20 tournament.
Asia Cup Qualifiers 2022
The Asia Cup Qualifiers 2022 is being played from August 20 to 24 at Al Amerat Cricket Ground Oman Cricket, Muscat, Oman. Four teams — United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Singapore and Hong Kong — are part of the Asia Cup 2022 qualifiers. Only one of these four teams will find a place in the Asia Cup 2022, scheduled from August 27-September 11.

Asia Cup Qualifier Scenarios
Today the last two qualifying matches will take place for the single spot left in Asia cup 2022. The first match is between Singapore and Kuwait which will begin around 5:30 IST. The second match is between Hong Kong and UAE which will begin around 9:30 IST.
Hong Kong is leading on the points table with four points and two match wins with a Net run rate of +0.716. Hong Kong won its first match against Singapore and won the second against Kuwait.
UAE is second on the points table with two points with one match won and one match lost. UAE has a net run rate of +1.045, they won their match against Singapore and lost against UAE.
Kuwait is third on the points table with two points with one match won and one match lost. Kuwait has a net run rate of -0.421, they won their match against UAE but lost against Hong Kong.
Singapore is the last team on the points table with zero points and two matches lost. Singapore has a net run rate of -1.375, they lost their matches against Hong Kong and UAE.
In order to qualify Hong Kong only needs to win one more match against UAE. But if UAE Wins NRR can land Hong Kong in trouble for qualifying for Asia Cup.
