Ashes 2019, 3rd Test: Australia On Brink Of Retaining Ashes After England's Woeful 67 All Out

Pacer Josh Hazlewood's five-wicket haul helped Australia to restrict England at 67 runs in the third Ashes Test at Headingley Cricket Ground on Friday

The Day 3 of the third Ashes Test proved to be an outstanding day for Australia as the Aussie quicks bowled fiery spells to skittle hosts for 67, before Marnus Labuschagne scored his third consecutive fifty to increase Australia's lead to 283. The pick of the bowlers was Josh Hazlewood (5-30), who started and finished the demolition job of England on Friday in a bowling performance that left the cricket pundits highly impressed. Aussie batsman Marnus Labuschagne continued his dream run in the Ashes as he finished unbeaten on 53 with Australia leading. Labuschagne has now scored three Ashes half-centuries in three Ashes innings, with the latest one coming from 134 balls. Pacer Josh Hazlewood's five-wicket haul helped Australia to restrict England at 67 runs in the third Ashes Test at Headingley Cricket Ground on Friday to leave Australia on the verge of retaining the Ashes. Apart from the Hazlewood's show, speedster Pat Cummins scalped three wickets while Pattinson took two wickets. After bowling out Australia to 179 on day one, English openers stepped on the field to bat on day two. England suffered a shattering start as they lost three quick wickets. Roy (9), skipper Joe Root (0), and Burns (9) were departed early by the Australian pacer's. England lost three wickets at the score of 20. Joe Denly and Ben Stokes built a 14-run partnership for the fourth wicket, which was the highest run stand for England in the innings. With Stokes (8) and Denly (12) getting out cheaply, England suffered another blow at 45 as Jonny Bairstow also departed after scoring 4 runs. After losing six quick wickets, England failed to make a come back in the match. Tailenders added some runs before the team were bowled out at 67. (With Agency Inputs)
