MLC 2024- Andre Russell Breaks Travis Head's Bat, Viral Video: Washington Freedom beat Los Angeles Knight Riders by 8 wickets to register their third won on the trot in Major League Cricket (MLC) 2024 on Sunday (July 14). Washington Freedom first bowled out their opponents for 129 with Saurabh Netravalkar and Glenn Maxwell sharing seven wickets between them, they then managed to chase down their target in 16 over.
Other than a clinical performance from Washington Freedom in the match which saw Travis Head (54) and Steve Smith (42*) shine with the bat, a bizarre incident also happened in the fixture as a short-pitch ball from Andre Russell broke Travis Heads' bat. Russell's fiery delivery hit the upper half of Head's bat and broke it, sending it flying away from the batter. The video of the incident soon went viral on social media.
