Akash Deep Smashes Pat Cummins For Massive Six After Helping India Avoid Follow-On, Virat Kohli’s Reaction Goes Viral | WATCH

Virat Kohli’s reaction to Akash Deep’s massive six off Pat Cummins’ bowling went viral as India avoided the follow-on on Day 4 of the Brisbane Test.

Akash Deep and Jasprit Bumrah joined hands to construct a remarkable unbeaten 39-run partnership to help India avoid a follow-on on Day 4 of the ongoing India vs Australia 3rd Test at The Gabba in Brisbane. However, what stole the show was Akash’s massive six off Pat Cummins’s bowling right after a boundary to save India from a follow-on. The big shot from the India pacer’s bat left the Indian dressing room awestruck, especially by Virat Kohli.

Bumrah and Akash frustrated the Australian pacers with an unbroken 39-run partnership for the 10th wicket. Their resilient effort allowed India to surpass the follow-on target of 246 on Day 4 of the third IND vs AUS Test as India reached 252/9 by the end of the day.

On the second ball of the 74th over in the second innings, bowled by Pat Cummins, Akash thick-edged the ball to the boundary ropes for a four and helped India avoid a follow-on. The boundary prompted raucous reactions in the Indian dressing room, with the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma high-fiving each other.

However, even more dramatic scenes followed as Akash smacked the fourth ball of the same over for a big maximum over deep mid-wicket. Kohli’s animated celebration from the dressing room, which followed the six, quickly went viral on the internet.

After the six, only one ball was bowled before the play was halted late in the day due to bad light and with more wet weather expected on Wednesday, a draw seems almost certain. After four days of play, India are trailing Australia by 193 runs, with the hosts having set a formidable target of 445 in their first innings.
