'India Shall Rise And Shine': Shikhar Dhawan Donates Oxygen Concentrators To Gurugram Police

Last month, Dhawan had announced that he will donate INR 20 lakh rupees towards 'Mission Oxygen', being run for the supply of oxygen to Covid-19 dedicated hospitals. Along with this, he announced that he will also donate 'money for all the individual awards he received in the IPL 14'.

As the entire country battles the second wave of dreaded Coronavirus (Covid-19), Indian cricket team's star opener Shikhar Dhawan took to social media to reveal how he is trying to help people in these testing times. Gurugram Police tweeted a post to thank the senior Indian batsman for donating oxygen concentrators.

Shikhar Dhawan plays for Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL, but the 14th season of the cash-rich tournament was suspended indefinitely midway by the BCCI after rise of COVID-19 cases across franchises inside the IPL bio-bubble.

"Grateful to serve my people in this pandemic through this small token of help! Always ready to help my people and society to my best. India shall rise and shine against this pandemic!," Shikhar Dhawan wrote on Twitter.

Last month, Dhawan had announced that he will donate INR 20 lakh rupees towards 'Mission Oxygen', being run for the supply of oxygen to Covid-19 dedicated hospitals. Along with this, he announced that he will also donate 'money for all the individual awards he received in the IPL 14'.

"I would like to thank all the tireless frontline workers for their incredible service. We are forever in your debt," the star opener wrote in his post on Twitter.

The Indian cricket team is scheduled to tour Sri Lanka in July for a limited overs series, which will not include big names like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jaspreet Bumrah.  At the same time, Team India will be preparing for the five-match Test series against England.

During England's tour, India will play the final of the ICC World Test Championship against New Zealand from 18 June and later a five-Test series against England from August 4.

For India's tour of England, a 20-member squad has been announced.  Now except for these 20 players in the team touring Sri Lanka, the remaining players are to be selected.
