Ashwini Ponnappa-Tanisha Crasto Clinch Guwahati Masters Super 100 Title

Indian women's doubles pair, Tanisha Crasto and Ashwini Ponnappa, added another feather to their cap by clinching their second Super 100 title at the Guwahati Masters. In a commanding performance, the second-seeded Indian duo defeated the Chinese Taipei pair Sung Shuo Yun and Yu Chien Hui, ranked 81st in the world, in straight games with a scoreline of 21-13, 21-19 in a brisk 40-minute final.

This victory comes hot on the heels of their runner-up finish at the Syed Modi International Super 300 tournament in Lucknow last week. With a promising start to their partnership in January, the Indian pair has shown remarkable chemistry, representing India in the Asian Games held in Hangzhou, China, in September-October.

The Guwahati Masters win marks the third title for Crasto, 20, and Ponnappa, 34, this year. Their earlier triumphs include the Abu Dhabi Masters Super 100 and the Nates International Challenge.
The Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Tour consists of various levels, ranging from the World Tour Finals to the Super 100 level. Each level offers different ranking points and prize money, with the Super 1000 level being the most prestigious. The Indian duo's consistent success is bolstering their rankings and enhancing India's presence on the international badminton circuit.
