Vijaya Ekadashi 2025: In Sanatan Dharma, Ekadashi fasting holds great significance. The Ekadashi that falls in the Krishna Paksha of the Phalguna month is known as Vijaya Ekadashi. This Ekadashi is considered not only religiously important but also spiritually auspicious. According to scriptures, Vijaya Ekadashi is associated with victory and liberation (moksha).
Significance Of Vijaya Ekadashi:
As per religious beliefs, Lord Rama observed the Vijaya Ekadashi fast before waging war against Lanka. Following this, he achieved victory over Lanka and defeated the demon king Ravana. Therefore, it is believed that anyone who observes this fast with devotion and worships Lord Vishnu attains relief from hardships, overcomes enemies, and achieves success.
Vijaya Ekadashi 2025 Date And Auspicious Yogas:
In 2025, the Vijaya Ekadashi fast will be observed on February 24. According to astrologer Aneesh Vyas, this year, Vijaya Ekadashi will coincide with Siddhi Yoga and Shiva Vaas, making it even more powerful. Additionally, the presence of Purvashada and Uttarashada Nakshatras will enhance the significance of this day. Observing fasts and performing rituals during these auspicious alignments will bring fulfillment of desires and spiritual benefits.
Significance Of Tulsi Puja And Chanting Vishnu Mantras:
It is considered essential to worship Tulsi along with Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi on Vijaya Ekadashi. Devotees can also chant Vishnu mantras as part of their prayers. However, it is recommended to use a Tulsi mala (rosary) while chanting Lord Vishnu’s mantras.
In Hindu tradition, different types of rosaries are used for chanting mantras dedicated to various deities. Vaishnavas primarily use Tulsi beads to chant Lord Vishnu’s sacred hymns. On Vijaya Ekadashi, devotees are advised to chant the mantra ‘Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya’ 108 times using a Tulsi mala. This practice is believed to invoke the blessings of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi, helping devotees overcome financial difficulties.
Before chanting, it is advised to purify the Tulsi mala with Gangajal (holy water from the Ganges). After completing the mantra recitation, the rosary should be respectfully touched to the forehead and then stored properly in a clean place inside a gomukhi (a sacred pouch).
Since Tulsi beads are especially dear to Lord Vishnu, they can also be used to chant mantras dedicated to Lord Krishna, Goddess Lakshmi, and Lord Rama. Additionally, chanting with a Rudraksha mala is also considered highly beneficial.
