Masik Shivratri 2024: The Masik Shivratri fast is believed to enhance happiness and prosperity. By observing the fast and worshipping Lord Shankar on this day, all desires are fulfilled, and happiness remains in life. The Masik Shivratri of the Margashirsha month will be observed in November. After offering Bilva leaves, flowers, incense, lamps, and food to Lord Shankar, the chanting of Shiva mantras is performed.

The Masik Shivratri of the Margashirsha month will be observed on November 29, 2024. Unmarried women observe this fast to get married, while married women keep it to maintain happiness and peace in their married life.

Margashirsha Masik Shivratri 2024 Time

The Chaturdashi of the Krishna Paksha in the Margashirsha month will begin on November 29, 2024, at 8:39 AM and end on November 30, 2024.  

  • Shiv Puja Time - From 11:41 PM to 12:35 AM, on November 30

Masik Shivratri Importance

It is believed that those who observe the Masik Shivratri fast, Lord Shiva blesses them and makes all their endeavours successful. Happiness fills their married life, and any obstacles in the marriage of unmarried individuals are removed, leading to the finding of a suitable partner. They are also relieved from financial hardships.

Masik Shivratri Puja Vidhi

  • On the day of Masik Shivratri, wake up early in the morning, take a bath, and wear clean clothes. After that, make a resolution to observe the fast.
  • Clean the temple and purify it by sprinkling Ganga water.
  • Then, place the Shiva Lingam, the idol or picture of Lord Shiva, and Goddess Parvati.
  • Offer Ganga water, Bilva leaves, flowers, incense, lamps, and offerings to the Shiva Lingam.
  • Light a ghee or oil lamp in front of Lord Mahadev and recite the Shiv Chalisa.
  • After that, perform the Aarti of Lord Shiva and then chant the mantras.
