'Is Allahabad HC Dustbin?’: Bar Association Threatens Protest Over Justice Varma’s Transfer Amid Cash Row — Video
The Allahabad High Court Bar Association strongly opposes the proposed transfer of Justice Yashwant Varma to the court, citing corruption allegations against him and demanding he be kept away from judicial duties until investigated.

In a major development regarding the recommendation to transfer Justice Yashwant Varma to the Allahabad High Court, the Bar Association of HC has strongly opposed it. The Bar Association has stated that the Allahabad High Court should not be treated as a "dustbin" for sending those accused of corruption to administer justice.
"...If Rs 15 lakhs are found at the house of a common employee, then he is sent to jail. Cash worth Rs 15 crores is found at the house of a judge and he is being given 'Ghar Wapsi'. Is Allahabad High Court a dustbin?," said Anil Tiwari, President, Allahabad High Court Bar Association.

"The High Court Bar is standing against corruption with a very strong footing. We will not let him be welcomed here. If he joins, we will sine die the Court and the lawyers will abstain from the Court...It is our demand that Justice Yashwant Varma should not be sent to Allahabad High Court...," the court further added.
The Bar Association has demanded that Justice Yashwant Varma not be transferred to the Allahabad High Court and that he be kept away from judicial duties until the investigation against him is completed. Additionally, the Bar Association has called for a General House meeting on March 24 to discuss the matter further, where a major decision could be made.
The Bar Association stated that it was informed through media reports about the discovery of money at Justice Varma's residence, and following this, the recommendation for his transfer to the Allahabad High Court was made. The Association deemed this decision completely wrong.
The Bar Association also warned that appointing individuals facing corruption charges to the High Court would severely undermine public trust in the judiciary. The matter has raised concerns about the transparency and credibility of the judicial system.
The Bar Association's letter emphasised multiple times that the Allahabad High Court should not be used as a dumping ground for those facing serious corruption allegations. The letter, issued by Bar Association President Anil Tiwari, also referenced an older Supreme Court ruling on the matter.
