Why Maghi Purnima Is The Most Auspicious Day For Maha Kumbh Bathing

The next Royal Snan will take place on Maghi Purnima, which will be the fifth Royal Snan of the Maha Kumbh. On this day, millions of people will gather in Prayagraj to take a sacred dip in the Triveni Sangam, seeking liberation and spiritual fulfillment. This is why Maghi Purnima is considered the most auspicious day for bathing in the Maha Kumbh. Maghi Purnima falls on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. On this full moon day, bathing, donating, and fasting hold special religious significance. Additionally, the fifth Royal Snan will take place on this day at the Prayagraj Maha Kumbh.

According to religious belief, on Maghi Purnima, deities descend to Earth and bathe at the Triveni Sangam in human form, performing prayers and penance. This enhances the spiritual significance of the Royal Snan on Maghi Purnima. It is also an important day for fulfilling desires, achieving liberation, and other spiritual purposes. Furthermore, for those who begin their 'Kalpavasa' on Poush Purnima, it concludes on Maghi Purnima.
