- 1 Cup Dried Black or White Chickpeas
- 2 Piece Dried Red Chillies
- 1 Teaspoon Mustard Seeds
- 1 Teaspoon Coconut or Sunflower Oil
- 1 Pinch Asafoetida
- 8 Piece Curry Leaves
- 2 Tablespoon Fresh Grated Coconut
- 1 Teaspoon Lemon Juice
- Water
- Salt
Cooking Instructions
Rinse the chickpeas properly and then soak them for about 6 or 8 hours.
After soaking, drain the water and pressure cook them with water and little salt. Let them cook for 4 or 5 whistles and then drain the water.
Take a pan and heat oil in it. Add in the mustard seeds and wait for them to splutter. Add the dried red chillies, curry leaves, and asafoetida.
Add the boiled chickpeas in the pan and stir it well. Add little more salt to it according to your taste.
Add grated coconut and mix it. let it cook for a couple of minutes and allow the flavours to blend.
Turn off the flame and add lemon juice for a tangy touch.
