ED Rejects CM Hemant Soren's Request To Reschedule Date For Questioning In Illegal Mining Case

The Enforcement Directorate rejected Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren's request to reschedule questioning in illegal mining case, reported news agency ANI. The Chief Minister had requested to set the date for questioning on November 16 instead of November 17, which was earlier fixed in the agency's second summon, the report added.

Nifty reaches 18,400; Sensex jumps 249 points on late buying; Airtel and ICICI take the lead

The important benchmark wisely recovered in late deals after exhibiting lacklustre activity for the majority of the trading session thanks to buying support in a few select index heavyweights like ICICI Bank, Bharti Airtel, and Infosys. The S&P BSE Sensex spiked to a high of 61,956, up 519 points from the day's low, after touching a low of 61,437 earlier. The BSE benchmark eventually finished at 61,873 after rising 249 points. At 18,403, the NSE Nifty finished 74 points higher.

Among the Sensex 30 stocks, PowerGrid and ICICI Bank both had gains of more than 2%. Bharti Airtel increased by 1.8%. The other notable winners included UltraTech Cement, SBI, Mahindra & Mahindra, Dr. Reddy's, Asian Paints, and Titan. Conversely, ITC and Reliance ended with losses of around 0.5 per cent each.
