In Pics: Chandigarh-Manali National Highway blocked for long hours after landslide

A huge boulder from nearby mountains that fell on Chandigarh-Manali National Highway, early Monday morning as a result of a landslide, led to disruption of traffic for long hours on the road.

The heavy rains and landslide delayed all the buses by about an hour and it took three hours for the traffic to run at a normal pace.

The tourists hailing from other states were suspended for long hours in the jam. The PWD officials who were present at the spot informed that the route could be opened only after deployment of machines.

Some vehicles trying to still manage a way out of the space available suffered damages too. However no loss of life was reported.
