As the panic over Joshimath land subsidence grows, new cracks have appeared on some houses in Bahuguna Nagar of Karnaprayag Municipality in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district.

Sitarganj MLA Saurabh Bahuguna stated that other villages near Joshimath are experiencing subsidence. "In Joshimath, efforts are being made to rehabilitate affected people. We guarantee the people of Joshimath's safety. I've received calls from villages near Joshimath that are in a similar situation. Two hotels, Hotel Malari Inn and Hotel Mount View, will be demolished on Tuesday by experts from Roorkee's Central Building Research Institute, with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) standing by to assist if necessary. According to the Chamoli DDMA bulletin, over 600 houses in the holy town have developed cracks thus far, with 81 families being 'temporarily' displaced. A team from the Ministry of Jal Shakti arrived in Joshimath on Monday to assess the situation. District magistrate Himanshu Khurana informed ANI that a central team will also arrive on Tuesday to assess property damage and recommend a course of action while coordinating relief and rescue efforts with the local administration.
