Filmmaker Ayan Mukerji and his family on Tuesday hosted a prayer meet in memory of his late father, veteran actor Deb Mukherjee, who passed away at the age of 83 last Friday.

While the event saw several celebrities in attendance, Ayan took a moment to address the paparazzi stationed outside the venue, requesting their cooperation.

As photographers expressed concerns about the spot allocated to them—one that did not offer an unobstructed view of all the arriving guests—Ayan explained the family’s decision. He urged them to be understanding, emphasising that the occasion was deeply personal.

“I just felt like there will be a lot of commotion inside. It’s like a prayer meet. It’s just a bit personal. If you think you are not getting nicer shots, then I am sorry, but I think for us, this will be a better thing today,” Ayan was heard telling the photographers.

Anupam Kher was one of the celebrities who attended the prayer meet.

Vicky Kaushal was also spotted as he arrived for the prayer meet. Ranbir Kapoor, who is a close friend of Ayan, was also present.

Television actor Arjun Bijlani also came to pray for Deb Mukherjee.

Aditya Roy Kapoor was also clicked as he came to attend the meet.

Filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj was also present.

Vicky Kaushals's father Sham Kaushal was also seen at the prayer meet.
