Akshay Kumar recently seized the opportunity to promote his latest release ‘Sky Force’ ahead of its OTT release by leaning into his meme-making skills. On Wednesday, the actor shared a playful video on Instagram alongside actor Veer Pahariya, recreating the viral hook-step from Veer, but this time without the song’s audio.

The hook-step, which gained massive attention when the film was released, quickly became a subject of memes – though not in the most flattering light. While the film's PR campaign ensured that Veer’s dance was seen by nearly everyone online, it was his infamous "langdi" hook-step to the song Rang that turned into viral fodder. However, Veer Pahariya handled the trolling with grace and humor, even turning it into an asset. A prime example of this was when he incorporated the 'langdi' step into a Holi advertisement, making the commercial go viral and proving that sometimes, even negative attention can be leveraged for positive publicity.

About Sky Force

Inspired by a real-life military incident, ‘Sky Force’ chronicles the 1965 India–Pakistan conflict through the eyes of Wing Commander Kumar Om Ahuja, an Indian Air Force pilot portrayed by Akshay Kumar. In addition to Veer Pahariya, the film boasts a talented ensemble cast, including Sara Ali Khan, Nimrat Kaur, Sharad Kelkar, Mohit Chauhan, Manish Choudhary, and Varun Badola in key roles.

‘Sky Force’ is set to stream on Prime Video from March 21.
