iPhone 17 Leaks: New Phones Tipped To Feature AI-Enhanced 24MP Selfie Camera, Major Upgrades Expected

iPhone 17 is expected to be launched by Apple in September this year.

iPhone 17 Leaks: Apple is reportedly gearing up for a significant front camera upgrade with the iPhone 17 series. According to analyst Jeff Pu, the upcoming iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro models will feature a 24-megapixel front-facing camera, a major leap from the long-standing 12MP sensor used in previous iterations.

This upgrade is expected to bring sharper selfies, improved low-light photography, and AI-driven enhancements for better portrait effects and video calls. The change could mark one of the most significant advancements in Apple's front-facing camera technology to date.

AI-Powered Photography and Performance Boosts

Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has also backed these claims, suggesting that at least one iPhone 17 model will sport the upgraded 24MP camera. He stated that this change will "significantly improve the image quality," reinforcing expectations that Apple is placing greater emphasis on AI-driven image processing.

Beyond the camera improvements, Pu’s research note also indicates that Apple will increase the RAM capacity in the iPhone 17 series. The current 8GB RAM found in iPhone 16 models is expected to be upgraded to 12GB, allowing for smoother multitasking and better overall performance.

Hardware Enhancements and Lineup Reshuffle

Additional leaks suggest that the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max variants will receive a 48MP telephoto sensor, further enhancing their camera capabilities. Meanwhile, Apple’s next-generation A19 and A19 Pro chips, built on TSMC’s third-generation 3nm process, are anticipated to power the iPhone 17 series, delivering improved efficiency and performance.

In a potential shakeup to its product lineup, Apple may replace the Plus model with a new variant called the iPhone 17 Air. There are also reports that Apple could retire the "Pro Max" branding in favour of "iPhone 17 Ultra." These changes hint at a strategic rebranding aimed at differentiating the models more clearly.

With these rumoured upgrades, the iPhone 17 series could mark a significant evolution in Apple’s smartphone lineup, particularly in AI-powered photography and performance enhancements. While official details remain unconfirmed, anticipation is already building around what could be Apple's most advanced iPhone lineup yet.
