Year Ender 2022: From Suzuki Katana To Royal Enfield Hunter — Top Two-Wheeler Launches Of The Year

The Indian market saw plenty of two-wheelers in the form of electric and premium launches. There was a shift towards being premium and performance-oriented while electric saw a boost as well.

Suzuki Katana — Here is a retro styled motorcycle that blurs the lines and sits in a class of its own. We love the retro styling which pays tribute to the 80s Katana along with details like the rectangular headlamp and more. The other talking point is the power inline-four cylinder engine which brings out a proper superbike performance but being infused with a classic styling theme. Bajaj Pulsar N160 — The Pulsar brand continues to be strong as ever with the N160 opening up a new segment while providing a nice balance between performance and practicality. It is more of a smaller brother to the N250 and is the Pulsar way of making a 160cc segment bike. It also sits on the sportier scale and has the poise of a much higher segment motorcycle which brings a sportier edge into this segment space. The Pulsar brand has seen a big evolution with the N160. Hero Vida — Amongst various electric scooters, the Vida is the newest entrant and comes with a 3.94kWh battery which claims to give a charge of 165km. The other big advantage is the removable battery which reduces the charging time. Alongside the futuristic design, you also get various tech oriented features as well along with 3 riding modes. TVS Ronin — The Ronin combines various styles of motorcycles including a scrambler/cafe racer along with loads of features. The DRL design to the fuel tank has a muscular look while the rest combines to have a combination of cruiser/retro vibes. We also liked the performance of this motorcycle in terms of its engine while the suspension handles our roads quite well. BMW C400 GT — The C400 GT from BMW happens to be the most expensive scooter in India right now and comes with performance or road presence which is similar to a superbike! It gets a liquid cooled engine and a CVT gearbox. The design is also aggressive and different for a scooter while it is made for long distance riding with loads of features and comfort. Royal Enfield Hunter — The Hunter 350 has been one of the most talked about motorcycle launches of this year while it extends the 350 RE range to a sportier riding audience. It is also more compact, lighter and has an aggressive look when compared to other 350 RE bikes. The performance has also been tuned keeping that in mind while it is quite a sportier alternative and brings new buyers for this popular brand. The Hunter 350 competes with other retro roadsters too.
