Maruti has launched the 2022 Alto K10 in India with a starting price of Rs 3.99 lakh. The new Alto K10 is taller and longer than the model it replaces while also being sold alongside the 800cc Alto.

The new Alto K10 is taller and longer than the model it replaces while also being sold alongside the 800cc Alto. The official fuel efficiency figure is 24.9 kmpl.

The new Alto K10 will get a K10C petrol engine which develops 67 bhp while the 800cc engine is for the standard Alto.

The new Alto K10 would be available in the following variants- Std (O), LXi, VXi, and VXi+ variants. The K10 is positioned above its Alto sibling while being as a entry level hatchback rival to the likes of the Kwid from Renault, which is its only rival, and it also comes with a 1.0 petrol.

There is a bigger grille and more sculpted lines now along with more styling influenced by the Celerio, which is positioned above.The glass area is also bigger with cleaner lines along with more square shaped tail-lamps.

The same can be said of the interior with a much more plush cabin and better quality while it also gets a touchscreen unit along with a digital instrument cluster. The touchscreen is a 7-inch unit and is pretty good in terms of display clarity.

Gearbox options include a standard 5-speed manual gearbox and an AMT for more convenience. It is also noted that window switches are placed on the centre of the dashboard. The AMT gearbox is available from VXi onwards while the top-end AMT automatic Alto K10 is priced at Rs 5.83 lakh.

Other features include steering control, smartphone connectivity, dual airbags, rear parking sensors, ABS and more. There is more space due to the new platform and storage space is decent for the size
