After this ride, Rahul Gandhi expressed his delight at the impressive traffic etiquette he witnessed in Mizoram, Renthlei told PTI. "There is a lot to learn from this culture of respecting each other," he remarked, extolling the state's commendable traffic discipline.
Notably, Mizoram's exemplary traffic discipline has garnered accolades from eminent figures, including former president Ram Nath Kovind. The state's adherence to traffic rules has earned Aizawl the distinction of being dubbed the 'Silent City' or the 'No Honking City' of India. The city's approach to traffic management is typified by cars sticking to the left lane and two-wheelers to the right side of the left lane. No vehicle is seen overtaking or crossing into the lane designated for oncoming traffic, as per PTI's report.
Rahul Gandhi's visit to Mizoram, which commenced on Monday, featured a padayatra during which he was greeted by enthusiastic crowds. At the culmination of this march, he addressed a rally, targeting the BJP and the ruling Mizo National Front (MNF) in Mizoram.
