After Trump-Vance Rebuke Over Ingratitude, Ukraine’s Zelenskyy Goes On Thanking Spree For Allies

Following a tense meeting with US President Trump, Ukrainian President Zelensky thanked world leaders for their support.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy went on thanking allies hours after he was crushed by US President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance during a meeting at the White House.

A heated argument broke out during the meeting as the leaders of the two nations engaged in a shouting game in front of the global media.

Following the high voltage drama, world leaders rushed in to rally behind Zelenskyy, who wrote “Thank you for your support” in individual replies to around 30 such messages.

French President Emmanuel Macron reiterated his country's stance in helping Ukraine and sanctioning Russia.

"Russia illegally and unjustifiably invaded Ukraine," said Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. "Canada will continue to stand with Ukraine and Ukrainians in achieving a just and lasting peace," he added.

Australian PM Anthony Albanese also voiced support and so did European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

Spanish President Pedro Sanchez, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, and New Zealand PM Christopher Luxon were among the other world leaders who threw their weight behind Zelesnky.

The thanking spree came as Trump and Vance confronted Zelenskyy over his alleged lack of gratitude. What was supposed to be a meeting to discuss ways to end the war descended to theatrics with Trump accusing Zelenskyy of "gambling with millions of lives".

The rift in the meeting began when Vance accused Zelenskyy of refusing to accept the present disagreements when it came to a ceasefire agreement and "fighting it out in front of the media."

“You have to be thankful. You don’t have the cards,” Trump said, adding later, “You gotta be more thankful.”

“Have you said thank you once this entire meeting?” Vance asked.

It was after this tense interaction that world leaders came in support of Zelenskyy.
