New Delhi: The conspiracy theory around the origin of SARS-CoV-2, or the novel coronavirus after it escaped from the Wuhan laboratory seems to have gained ground after the shocking revelation of Chinese military scientists allegedly investigated weaponising coronaviruses five years before the pandemic.

As per the ‘The Sun’ newspaper in the UK, which quoted the reports released by ‘The Australian’, citing the documents accessed by the US State Department reportedly hints at the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) commanders making the creepy prediction.

The military scientist may have predicted a World War III fought with biological weapons, as per the PLA documents revealed.

What are the findings of this ‘bombshell’ document?

As per the report, the US officials allegedly obtained the papers written by military scientists and senior Chinese public health officials in 2015 and considered them as part of their own investigation into the origins of Covid-19.

Chinese scientists went on to describe SARS coronaviruses — of which Covid is one example — as presenting a “new era of genetic weapons".

It is already known by now that coronaviruses are a large family of viruses, several of which cause respiratory diseases in humans leading to the common cold and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS).

If you believe the documents, then it seems that China fantasised a bioweapon attack that can cause the "enemy's medical system to collapse".

The document also cited work by US Air Force colonel Michael J. Ainscough, who predicted World War III may be fought with bioweapons. The paper also includes musing that SARS —which hit China in 2003 — could have been a man-made bioweapon deliberately unleashed by "terrorists".

The military scientist loathed the fact that the viruses could be “artificially manipulated into an emerging human disease virus, then weaponised and unleashed in a way never seen before".

The document mentions China's top public health figures among other authors and revealed in an upcoming book on the origins of COVID, titled ‘What Really Happened In Wuhan’.

In fact, the world is now concerned with this emerging theory that has gained ground since the origin of this deadly disease. Tom Tugendhat MP and Australian politician James Paterson said the document raises major concerns about China's transparency on the origins of COVID-19.

Among the 18 listed authors of the document are People’s Liberation Army scientists and weapons experts.

After almost more than a year since the outbreak, questions remain over the origins of the deadly virus as the World Health Organisation (WHO) ordered a further investigation that factors in the possibility of a lab leak.

Most scientists have claimed there is no evidence that Covid-19 is manmade — but concerns remain valid whether it may have escaped from a secretive bio lab in Wuhan — from where the pandemic originated.
