New Delhi: Even as Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government intensified evacuation of stranded Indians from Ukraine, another Indian student from Punjab lost his life in the war-torn country on Wednesday.

The victim identified as Chandan Jindal had been studying in Ukraine's Vinnytsia for four years. The 21-year-old breathed his last while being treated in the hospital for an illness.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said Jindal lost his life due to natural causes, ANI reported.

The victim Naveen S G, who hailed from Chalageri village in Karnataka’s Haveri district, was a fourth-year MBBS student at Kharkiv National Medical University.

The Central government has intensified evacuation of stranded Indians from Ukraine.

“#OperationGanga developments. Six flights have now departed for India in the last 24 hours. Includes the first flights from Poland. Carried back 1377 more Indian nationals from Ukraine,” External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar tweeted earlier in the day.
