New Delhi: Bomb threats were reported in the schools in Ukrainian capital Kyiv as students returned to classrooms for the second academic year since Russian invasion, news agency AFP reported. “We have received information about explosives in Kyiv's schools. All educational institutions are being checked by Kyiv police forces with the involvement of the State Emergency Service,” the news agency reported police spokeswoman Yulia Girdvilis as saying.

According to Ukraine’s Education Ministry, around four million students have resumed school education, both virtually and in the classroom.

Taking to social media, head of Ukraine's presidential office, Andriy Yermak said, “The nation preserved the opportunity for children to go to Ukrainian school. Ukrainian teachers are real heroes.”

The official further said more than 3.6 million children attend school in the country, and this includes around 9,00,000 who study remotely.
