UK PM Sunak Visits Tel Aviv, PM Modi Assures Humanitarian Aid To Palestine — Updates On Israel-Hamas War
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak extended support to Israel as he arrived in Tel Aviv on Thursday condemning an "unspeakable, horrific act of terrorism" referring to the surprise attacks by Hamas.
New Delhi: The conflict between Israel and the militant group Hamas has continued to escalate after the terrorist group launched a surprise attack on October 7 that killed around 1,300 people, the vast majority of whom were civilians.
In response, Israel declared war on Hamas and intensified its bombardment of the Gaza Strip.

- Sunak, addressing a joint conference with Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, said, "I know you are taking every precaution to not harm civilians, unlike the Hamas. Thank you for the evacuation of British citizens." "I'm here to express my solidarity with the Israeli people. You have suffered an unspeakable, horrific act of terrorism and I want you to know that the United Kingdom and I stand with you," he added.
- Amid the ongoing conflict, Modi said that India will continue to send humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people. "Spoke to the President of the Palestinian Authority H.E. Mahmoud Abbas. Conveyed my condolences at the loss of civilian lives at the Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza," he said in a post on X, adding: "We will continue to send humanitarian assistance for the Palestinian people. Shared our deep concern at the terrorism, violence and deteriorating security situation in the region. Reiterated India's long-standing principled position on the Israel-Palestine issue."
- Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson, Arindam Bagchi, announced the successful repatriation of 1,200 Indian nationals and 18 Nepali citizens under Operation Ajay. He denied any Indian casualties in Gaza and stated that one national was injured in the attacks.

MEA on the Israel-Hamas conflict said: "We have strongly condemned the horrific attack on Israel. International community must stand together in combating terrorism in all its forms. On the Palestine issue, we have reiterated our position in favour of direct negotiations for a two-state solution."
- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has declared a three-day mourning in Turkey over the Gaza hospital strike.

Russia sent 27 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Gaza, according to its foreign ministry. An aircraft carrying the goods was on its way to El Arish, an Egyptian city in northern Sinai about 50km (31 miles) from the Egypt-Gaza Rafah crossing.
