Blocked From Facebook & Twitter, Donald Trump Plans To Launch His Own Platform

People are well aware of Donald Trump's love for social media especially when it comes to attacking opponents and spreading claims about the loss in US Presidential Election result. Shut out from Facebook and Twitter, the outgoing President is planning for a "big announcement soon".

Washington: In the aftermath of the US Capitol Hill violence, Donald Trump's account on popular social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter stands suspended. But looks like this is not the end of it as the outgoing president is planning to launch his own platform in the coming days. ALSO READ | Pelosi Threatens House Could Move To Impeach Trump, Here's What Second Impeachment Means For President After Twitter suspended Donald Trump's account, he took to the official @POTUS account to accuse the platform of conspiring with "Democrats and the Radical Left to silence" him. "Twitter has gone further and further in banning free speech, and tonight, Twitter employees have coordinated with the Democrats and the Radical Left in removing my account from their platform, to silence me — and YOU, the 75,000,000 great patriots who voted for me," he wrote in a series of angry tweets from the @POTUS account. As the outgoing president lashed out at Twitter, he went ahead to hint that he was considering building his own social media platform as he wrote: "Twitter may be a private company, but without the government's gift of Section 230, they would not exist for long. I predicted this would happen. We have been negotiating with various other sites and we have a big announcement soon, while we also look at the possibilities of building out own platform in the near future. We will not be SILENCE!". "Twitter is not about FREE SPEECH. They are all about promoting a Radical Left platform where some of the most vicious people in the world are allowed to speak freely. STAY TUNED!" he added. These tweets were soon deleted. Twitter followed suit after Trump gained back access to the micro-blogging site briefly. All this has occurred in the wake of Capitol Hill violence that shocked the world while bringing embarrassment to the world's "oldest democracy". Donald Trump stands accused of inciting his followers as in a speech talked about marching to the Capitol with them as the Congress was to certify Joe Biden and Kamala Harris's win. When all chaos broke loose he was nowhere to be seen but tweeted calling for "No Violence". Despite failing to prove his claims of electoral fraud in the lawsuits filed and the Congress' go-ahead for the new administration's inauguration on January 20, Trump's allegations have continued even when he committed to a smooth transition of power. President-elect Joe Biden has called Donald Trump the "most incompetent" president in US history "I have been saying for now well over a year he (Trump) is not fit to serve," Biden said. "He is one of the most incompetent presidents in the history of the United States of America and so the idea that I think he shouldn't be out of the office yesterday is not the issue," he added. Meanwhile, Donald Trump has also made it clear that he will not be attending the swearing-in ceremony on January 20, thereby also ditching the age-old tradition of outgoing presidents attending the inaugural ceremony of their successor.
