Shahid Afridi Supports Taliban Regime, Says They Come With 'Positive Mind'. Gets Slammed By Netizens

Shahid Afridi has garnered attention due to his latest statement on the Taliban's take over of Afghanistan. A video has surfaced where Afridi can be seen singing praises of the Taliban.

Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi has been always known for his unfiltered flamboyant talk, either on the field or off the field. In the recent past, the 44-year-old has made several statements regarding Kashmir that irked Indians, while being under the scanner after he mentioned in his memoir that his daughters are "not allowed to play outdoors".
 
The veteran leg-break bowler, this time has again garnered attention due to his latest statement on the Taliban's take over of Afghanistan. A video has surfaced where Afridi can be seen singing praises of the Taliban during a media interaction. He expressed that the Taliban has come with a "positive mind" this time around.
 
“Taliban have come with a very positive mind. They’re allowing ladies to work. And I believe the Taliban like cricket a lot,” Shaid Afridi can be heard saying to the media.

As soon as the video came out, netizens lashed out at the cricketer, highlighting various issues faced by women in the past and other diktats in the current regime of the Taliban. 

Afridi, who still plays cricket in the Pakistan Super League, was also heard saying "Taliban loves cricket.”

It is to be reported that Afghanistan and Pakistan were slated to play an ODI series in September, which had to be postponed indefinitely due to the current situation in Afghanistan. 

Shahid Afridi, a prominent figure in Pakistan cricket, has played 37 Tests, 398 ODIs, and 99 T20I games for the Green Shirts.
