As soon as the video came out, netizens lashed out at the cricketer, highlighting various issues faced by women in the past and other diktats in the current regime of the Taliban.

Afridi, who still plays cricket in the Pakistan Super League, was also heard saying "Taliban loves cricket.”
It is to be reported that Afghanistan and Pakistan were slated to play an ODI series in September, which had to be postponed indefinitely due to the current situation in Afghanistan.
