Putin Will Be Killed By His Own Inner Circle, Claims Ukrainian President Zelensky: Report

Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky has reportedly claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin will be killed by his own inner circle.

Russia Ukraine Conflict: Ukraine's president Volodymyr Zelensky has reportedly claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin will be killed by his own inner circle, reported Independent. The report said citing The Times that Zelensky made the comments in a Ukrainian documentary called 'Year'.

He reportedly said, "Predators will devour a predator".

The remark comes after Russian President Vladimir Putin warned fellow citizens that they might not survive as a nation if Ukraine wins the war, reported Independent.

It added that Zelensky said in the documentary, "There will definitely be a moment when the fragility of Putin’s regime will be felt inside the (Russian) state."

"And then the predators will devour a predator. They will find a reason to kill a killer," he added, the report said.

Reacting to his comments, analysts said that it is very unlikely that the hardliners in Putin’s inner circle would move against him as they owe their positions to him, the report added.

Puting has earlier claimed that he has no choice but to take NATO’s nuclear capabilities into account while accusing the US-led military alliance of wanting to “disband the former Soviet Union and Russia”.

Zelensky on Sunday expressed confidence that the return of Crimeia to Ukrainian control would be part of an end to the war.

He tweeted, "This is our land. Our people. Our history. We will return the Ukrainian flag to every corner of Ukraine."

On the other hand, the Independent reported that the head of the CIA said that Putin is being “too confident” in his military’s ability to grind Ukraine into submission. According to the report, William Burns said that Putin has a belief that “he can make time work for him, that he believes he can grind down the Ukrainians, that he can wear down our European allies, that political fatigue will eventually set in”.

The Russia-Ukraine war completed its one year on Friday, February 24.
