This Pakistani air hostess accused of smuggling goes missing in Canada

The attendant named Fareeha Mukhtar was missing from among the crew members after the flight from Toronto landed in Lahore.

New Delhi: A ruckus was triggered when a Pakistan International Airlines flight from Toronto returned to Lahore with an air hostess missing from among the crew members. The PIA air hostess reportedly went missing in Canada on September 11, reported Geo TV. The attendant named Fareeha Mukhtar from Lahore was not present among the crew members after the flight from Toronto made landing. An airline person said that an investigation into the matter is underway. The Canadian police have been informed abut Mukhtar’s apparent disappearance in Toronto. However some reports suggest that Mukhtar was banned from flying on international flights following allegations of smuggling mobile phone. She somehow managed to board the flight and escaped in Canada. As per reports she has sought asylum in Canada. Reports have it that she was suspended a few years ago for her alleged involvement in smuggling mobile phones and foreign currency and was the banned by the airline from flying in international flights, reports said. Citing sources, Geo TV said that through political influence, Mukhtar portrayed herself to be a resident of Karachi despite belonging to Lahore and managed to board the flight to Toronto.
