Pakistan shares with India list of nuclear installations

Ministry of External Affairs also handed over the list of Indian Nuclear Installations and Facilities to a representative of the Pakistan High Commission.

New Delhi: Pakistan on Tuesday shared a list of its nuclear installations and facilities with India as agreed upon in the provisions of a bilateral agreement. Pakistan’s Foreign Office said that the list was handed over I accordance with Article-II of the Agreement on Prohibition of Attacks Against Nuclear Installations and Facilities between India and Pakistan which was signed on December 31, 1988 "The list of nuclear installations and facilities in Pakistan was officially handed over to a representative of the Indian High Commission at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, at 1000 hrs (local time)," the statement read. Ministry of External Affairs also handed over the list of Indian Nuclear Installations and Facilities to a representative of the Pakistan High Commission, said the FO. The bilateral agreement which was signed on December 31, 1998 came to force on Januray 27, 1991. It provides that the Both India and Pakistan shall inform each other of nuclear installations and facilities to be covered under the agreement,  on the first of January of every calendar year. Despite the straining bilateral ties, the two countries have maintained the practice of exchanging lists of nuclear installation .  The practice has been manatined since Januray 1, 1992 ever since it was brought into effect.
