Pakistan PM Imran Khan Summons Minister Over Controversial Remarks On Pulwama Attack

Pakistan's federal minister admitted that Pakistan was responsible for the Pulwama terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir in 2019 in which 40 soldiers of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were killed, in a sensational admission while addressing the National Assembly of the country.

Islamabad: Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan on Tuesday summoned the Science and Technology Minister Fawad Chaudhry his remarks on the Pulwama attacks as an “accomplishment” of Pakistan under the leadership of Imran Khan. While addressing the National Assembly, Chaudhry said, "We attacked India after infiltrating in its own territory and the success in Pulwama was a success under the leadership of Imran Khan. It was a success of our community and the opposition is also a partner in this success." Chaudhry’s statements brought in huge embarrassment for the PM Imran Khan who has always denied Pakistan’s role in the Pulwama attack. The Pakistani Minister of Science and Technology made the statement in response to Pakistan parliamentarian Ayaz Sadiq’s after he reveled, that Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa was extremely nervous after Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi during a meeting in February 2019 said that if Indian Air Force’s Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman was not released, India would attack Pakistan. Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, 37-year-old Indian Air Force (IAF) pilot was captured by the Pakistani Army on February 27, 2019, after his MiG-21 Bison fighter jet was shot down in a dogfight with Pakistani jets during aerial combat after he'd shot down a Pakistan Air Force F-16.
