WATCH: Pakistan News Channel 'Dawn' Hacked; Indian Tricolour, Happy Independence Day Message Displayed

The tricolour appeared over an advertisement that was running on the channel, and a Happy Independence Day message was displayed.

New Delhi: Pakistan’s leading news channel,  Dawn, was allegedly hacked on Sunday noon, several media reports said soon after photos and videos of the TV screen surfaced online. The hackers gave the message of Indian Independence Day along with Indian national flag. The tricolour appeared over an advertisement that was running on the channel, and a Happy Independence Day message was displayed.  Several Twitter users spotted the takeover and posted screenshots of it on the micro-blogging site. The message was displayed at around 3:30 pm on Dawn news channel. A Twitter user shared the following clip. Ordering an immediate probe, the Dawn News tweeted to confirm the matter. It said that the channel administration has ordered an immediate investigation in to the matter. "Dawn News is investigating the sudden broadcast of Indian flags and Happy Independence Day text on its screen," it said. In a statement issued by the Dawn News, it said that it was broadcasting as usual when the Indian tricolor and Independence Day wish appeared over the advertisement suddenly.
