'Heading For World War 3,' Says Trump As He Slams Biden-Kamala After Israel-Hezbollah Strikes

Former US President Donald Trump criticised the Biden administration's handling of the Middle East situation, saying "we're heading for World War III". Trump said President Joe Biden “is sleeping on a beach in California”, while Vice-President Kamala Harris is "doing a campaign bus tour" with her "really bad V.P. pick", a reference to her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.

In a post on X, Trump stated, “Who is negotiating for us in the Middle East? Bombs are dropping all over the place! Sleepy Joe is sleeping on a Beach in California, viciously Exiled by the Democrats, and Comrade Kamala is doing a campaign bus tour with Tampon Tim, her really bad V.P. Pick. Let’s not have World War lll, because that’s where we’re heading!”

Trump’s statement comes after a heavy exchange of fire between Israel and Hezbollah on Sunday that raised fears about an escalation of the conflict in the Middle East. However, both sides ceased the exchange by mid-morning and insisted they had only struck military targets. The exchange followed the Hezbollah's vow of retaliation for the killing of a top commander in Beirut last month, with Israel desribing its onslaught on Lebanon as "preemptive". Meanwhile, efforts continue to establish a ceasefire in Gaza as the conflict nears 11 months.

'Will Always Stand For Israel's Right To Defend Itself' 

On Thursday, Trump said that there would be no future under "Comrade Kamala Harris... because she will take us into a Nuclear World War III!" "She will never be respected by the Tyrants of the World!” he said.

The former president refers to VP Kamala Harris as “Comrade Kamala” because he says she is a “radical” Democrat, according to a CNN report. 

On Friday, Kamala Harris formally accepted her presidential nomination at the Democratic National Convention. During her acceptance speech, Harris said she “will always stand up for Israel's right to defend itself and I will always ensure Israel has the ability to defend itself”, according to the Associated Press.
