Meghan Markle to exhibit her wedding dress
Washington D.C. [USA], Aug 20 (ANI): Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle is all set to put her stunning Givenchy wedding gown on display.
According to People Magazine, the Royal officials are believed to be discussing a suitable time and details to display the dress at the Windsor Castle, the venue of the royal wedding of Meghan and Prince Harry.
Designed by Clare Waight Keller from French fashion house Givenchy, Markle wore a boat-necked, pure white silk gown, which was 15 feet veil embroidered with flowers.
The open bateau neckline framed Markle's shoulders and emphasised the slender sculpted waist of the dress. The shape was achieved using just six seams, and the dress flowed towards a train at the back, cushioned by an underskirt of triple silk organza.
It was made of a pure white double bonded silk cady - a thick fabric - which has a soft matt luster. The veil was made of silk tulle with a trim of hand-embroidered flowers in silk threads and organza. It was five meters long and had to be held by two pageboys as Markle arrived.
The embroidery took hundreds of hours to complete, with workers washing their hands every 30 minutes to keep the tulle and the threads pristine.
Markle's veil was held in place by Queen Mary's diamond bandeau tiara, which was loaned to her by Queen Elizabeth II.
Made in 1932, it comprises 11 sections, with a detachable center of ten diamonds that can be worn as a brooch. (ANI)
