Davos, Jan 22 (PTI): Union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Wednesday said India has emerged as the most trusted place amid disruptions across the word.

Addressing a press conference here on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting along with other Indian ministers and state leaders cutting across party lines, he said that global investors and leaders are convinced about India's potential.

Vaishnaw said it is a very special occasion to have one combined India team here in Davos.

"Despite all the disruptions across the world, India has emerged as a trusted place. This is a country that believes in peace, inclusion and growth for everyone," the union minister of railways said.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said he has been coming here for a long time, the first being in 1967, but it is the first time that 'Team India' has put up a united face.

He also said that the Indian delegation has got the best attention this time in Davos.

Naidu said the leaders on the stage may be from different parties, but for all them it is 'India First' here.

The Andhra Pradesh chief minister said the golden era of India has started and it involves all states competing with and complementing each other.

"If all of us work together, India will be number one for sure," Naidu said.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said it's great for all Indian leaders to come together and all of them have spoken in one voice this time in Davos.

“It's very important that all states grow together and it is happening now in India,” he said.

Union minister Chirag Paswan said this is a picture of 'One India' which Prime Minister Modi has always envisioned for the country to present at a global stage.

Andhra Pradesh minister Nara Lokesh said the next 25 years would be India's and all the states and the Centre should work together to make India a developed nation by 2047.

Replying to a question, Vaishnaw said India has a strong relationship with Switzerland and the free trade agreement with a European bloc comprising Switzerland will have huge benefits across sectors and states.

On Donald Trump becoming the US president again, he said India and the US have strong ties and the relationship of trust between the two countries will help both the economies.

On whether India would benefit from developing tensions between Europe and China, Vaishnaw said India works with a policy of trust in its dealings with any country.

India doesn't believe in working with this country or that country as it is this country and that country for us, he added. PTI BJ GSP GSP
