India Issues Advisory For Its Nationals In Israel Amid Iran's Missile Strikes

The Indian Embassy in Tel Aviv has issued an advisory for Indian nationals in Israel, asking them to remain vigilant amid Iran's missile attack on Israel.

Amid Iran's ballistic missile attack on Israel, the Indian Embassy in Tel Aviv issued an advisory for Indian nationals, asking them to remain vigilant and adhere to the protocols as advised by the local authorities.

"Please exercise caution, avoid unnecessary travel within the country, and stay near safety shelters. The Embassy is closely monitoring the situation and is in regular contact with Israeli authorities to ensure the safety of all our nationals," the Indian Embassy posted on X.

"In case of any emergency, please contact the 24/7 helpline of the Embassy:Telephone: A. +972-547520711 B. +972-543278392Email: consi.telaviv@mea.gov.in.Those Indian nationals who have yet to register with the Embassy are requested to do so at the following link: https://forms.gle/ftp3DEXgJwH8XVRdA," the embassy said in a statement.

Iran fired at least 180 ballistic missiles at Israel on October 1, 2024, amplifying tensions in the Middle East. Iran’s attacks were largely deterred by Israel with the help of its Iron Dome missile defence system, along with support from nearby US naval destroyers. The Israeli military reportedly said there was no news of injuries from the attack.

Reacting to Tehran's offensive on Israel, US President Joe Biden said the Iranian missile attack on Tel Aviv appears to have been defeated and ineffective.

Speaking to reporters at the White House, Biden said, "At my direction, the United States military actively supported the defence of Israel. We are still assessing the impact but, based on what we know, the attack appears to have been defeated and ineffective and this is a testament to Israeli military capability… (It is) also a testament to intensive planning (between) the United States and Israel to anticipate and defend against a brazen attack."

Iran's attacks followed Israel’s killing of Hassan Nasrallah, the longtime leader of the Tehran-backed Lebanese militant group Hezbollah, on September 27.
