'Broken Record With Stagnant Progress': India Hits Out At Pak For CAA, Ram Temple References At UNGA

India slammed Pakistan at the UNGA for making references Ayodhya's Ram Temple and Citizenship Amendment Act during a plenary meeting.

India on Friday slammed Pakistan at the United Nations General Assembly, describing it as a "broken record" that is still stagnant while the world progresses. Ruchira Kamboj, India's Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador hit out at Pakitsan's Ambassador Munir Akram for making references to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya as well as to the recently implemented Citizenship Amendment Act.

These references were made during the plenary meeting where Pakistan introduced a resolution 'Measures to combat Islamophobia', which was adopted by the UN General Assembly, news agency PTI reported.

"One final point concerns a delegation (and its remarks) that, much like a broken record, remains sadly stagnant while the world progresses," PTI quoted Kamboj saying.

Kamboj further stated that it was unfortunate to witness the "limited and misguided perspective" of Pakistan's delegation on matters relating to India. "More so, when the General Assembly considers a matter that demands wisdom, depth, and a global outlook from the entire membership – perhaps not the forte of this delegation," she added.

Kamboj on March 15, delivered a statement at the UNGA, explaining India's position during the adoption of the resolution introduced by Pakistan at the assembly.

The resolution ‘Measures to combat Islamophobia,' was adopted with 115 nations voting in its favour. None of the members, including India, France, Italy, Brazil, Germany, the UK, and Ukraine voted against it. The assembly however saw 44 abstentations, PTI reported.

India Slammed Pakistan For Raking Kashmir Issue At UN

Last year, in February, India slammed Pakistan for raking up the Kashmir issue in the United Nations saying that Islamabad had been constantly uttering falsehoods about India.

During a UNGA meeting, Counsellor in India's Permanent Mission to the UN, Rajesh Parihar stated that Islamabad harbours a sense of insecurity and orchestrated hatred for its neighbouring country and its secular credentials, TOI reported.

He further stated that no matter what Pakistan's representative believes, the Union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh were, are, and will always be an "integral and inalienable" part of India, TOI reported.
