Case Related To Imran Khan's 'Secret Daughter' In Pak Court. Who Is Tyrian Jade White?

A case against Imran Khan, pertaining to his 'secret daughter' Tyrian Jade White, has been admitted in Islamabad court. The petition seeks his disqualification.

The Islamabad High Court on Wednesday agreed to hear a petition against former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan over alleged concealment of his purported daughter. The plea alleged that Khan failed to mention the existence of this child, ‘Tyrian White’, in his nomination papers.

Here’s all the development in the matter so far:

  • Tyrian Jade White is Imran Khan’s purported daughter with his former lover Sita White, daughter of a British industrialist. Sita had initiated legal action against the former Pakistan Prime Minister in the US, news agency PTI reported.
  • According to various media reports, a California court in 1997 passed a default judgment and declared Tyrian White as Khan's daughter when he refused to take a DNA test.
  • Khan did not acknowledge Tyrian White as his daughter in an affidavit filed by Khan from nine constituencies in the National Assembly for the bypolls in August 2022. She reportedly lives in London. Several media outlets reported that in June, Imran Khan's ex-wife Jemima shared the “father-daughter duo’s” photo on Twitter on Father's Day but deleted it later.

  • Imran Khan claims he has only two sons with Jemima Goldsmith — Sulaiman (26) and Qasim (23).
  • The Times of India quoted the petitioner as stating, "Imran Khan has deliberately and wilfully failed to declare his daughter Tyrian White in the relevant columns of the nomination papers and the affidavit appended therewith." The petition adds "he made appropriate arrangements for her but hid the information about her in the nomination papers and affidavit".
  • The latest petition against the former cricketer-turned-politician has urged him to be summoned to court. It alleges that Imran han violated Article 62 of the Constitution of Pakistan, which states "a person shall not be qualified to be elected or chosen as a member of Majlis-e-Shoora (Parliament) unless — he is sagacious, righteous, non-profligate, honest and trustworthy".
  • The former Pakistan has, so far, maintained that he has been married to three women — Jemima Goldsmith, Reham Khan, and Bushra Bibi — and has only the two sons with Goldsmith.
  • The Election Commission of Pakistan in 1997 cleared Imran Khan of all charges in this case and dismissed the judgment of the US court. It held there was no evidence against him.
