Heavily-Armed Taliban Fighters Storm Gurdwara In Kabul: Report
Puneet Singh Chandhok, President of the Indian World Forum requests the Indian government to take up the concerns of minorities with the Taliban.
New Delhi: Amidst the growing concern over the situation of minorities in Taliban controlled Afghanistan, Puneet Singh Chandhok, President of the Indian World Forum on Friday said that heavily armed personnel claiming to be from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan vandalized the Gurdwara Dashmesh Pita at Karte Parwan, Kabul. He further requests the Indian government to take up the concerns of minorities with the Taliban.
“Today, heavily-armed officials who claimed to be from a special unit of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, forcibly entered Gurdwara Dashmesh Pita at Karte Parwan, Kabul. They intimidated the community present there, and abused the sanctity of the holy place,” Chandhok was quoted by ANI on its official Twitter handle.

He further said that the Taliban didn't only invade the Gurdwara but also attacked a community-based school next to the Gurdwara. "They're not only raiding the gurdwara but also the entire premises of community school attached next to it. The private security guards of the gurdwara initially prevented them from entering but they were also threatened with dire consequences and also manhandled," Chandhok added.
They've also simultaneously raided the erstwhile residence and office of MP Narinder Singh Khalsa located adjacent to the gurdwara. Around 20 members of the community are present inside the gurdwara: Puneet Singh Chandhok, President, Indian World Forum
