Doha-Bound IndiGo Flight Diverted To Karachi Due To Medical Emergency, Passenger Declared Dead On Landing
IndiGo informed that it's flight 6E-1736 diverted to Pakistan's Karachi due to a medical emergency. The passenger was declared dead on arrival.
IndiGo flight 6E-1736, operating from Delhi to Doha, was diverted to Pakistan's Karachi on Monday due to a medical emergency on board, the airlines informed a statement. "Unfortunately, on arrival, the passenger was declared dead by the airport medical team," IndiGo added.
"We are deeply saddened by the news and our prayers and wishes are with his family and loved ones. We're currently making arrangements for transferring the other passengers of the flight, in coordination with the relevant authorities," the statement further mentioned.

The deceased is identified as Abdullah, a Nigerian national who was around 60 years old, was declared dead on arrival, news agency PTI reported officials as informing.
The officials said that the aircraft A320-271N was parked at Karachi airport for nearly five hours. It returned to Delhi after the authorities in Karachi issued the death certificate of the passenger and all formalities were completed.

PTI reported Civil Aviation Authority officials in Karachi as saying that the passenger fell ill onboard and the captain requested for an emergency landing at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi.
Doctors from the health department were sent to provide treatment but the passenger had passed away. After the death certificate of the passenger was issued and all formalities were completed, the plane returned to Delhi.
The total number of people onboard the aircraft could not be immediately ascertained. More details about the same are awaited.
